Homeowner's Inurance

Arranging the appropriate insurance for one’s home is something that we take pride in at Meslee Insurance. Our office works with an array of excellent carriers to ensure that we obtain the most comprehensive policy at the best rate. We work with you to make sure that your home is not underinsured and keep you protected from liability exposures. A cheap policy with gaps in coverage is no bargain at all.

A common mistake is to settle for a cheap premium and then not have the necessary coverage when it counts most. After all, in many cases your home is your most important asset and you must be certain that you have the correct amount of coverage and the necessary endorsements to protect you in the event of a loss. Whether you have a high value home, older home or property located in a brush area, we have the necessary markets to place your risk. Our educated and licensed staff will assist you in looking at your current policy to ascertain that you have the necessary coverage. Basic Coverages Typically Included in Homeowner Policies

Coverage A (Dwelling): Covers the value of the dwelling itself not including the value of land. (Options for replacement cost or actual cash value)

Coverage B (Other Structures): Covers other structures on the property that are not directly attached to the dwelling such as a guest house, pool or detached garage.

Coverage C (Personal Property): Covers your personal property and contents in the home. (It is important to note that many homeowner policies have limitations to the amounts they will pay against theft or loss of certain target items such as jewelry, cash and coins. Items of high value must be specifically listed and endorsed to the policy or can be covered under a Personal Article Floater policy.) Depending on the carrier, coverage may be included for personal property with you while away from home.

Coverage D (Loss of Use): Covers costs associated with additional living expenses if the home is deemed uninhabitable after a loss.

Additional Coverages: Covers a variety of other expenses and risks such as debris removal, damage to trees and shrubs, credit card/identity theft charges, fire department charges and more.

Coverage L (Liability): Covers your personal liability for accidents that may happen at the home or at the hands of the homeowner within the policy territory. This protects you if others make a claim or bring suit against you for bodily injury or property damage.

Coverage M (Medical): Covers medical expenses for visitors who are accidentally injured on your premises.
